Calpol Syrup vs Panadol Tablet: Calpol vs Panadol — Same Generic, Different Use

Calpol (Paracetamol syrup) and Panadol (Paracetamol tablet) contain the same active ingredient — paracetamol — but in different formulations. Calpol is for infants and children; Panadol is the adult tablet. Confusing them is a common cause of underdosing or overdosing in Pakistani households.

Hamare expert ka khayal (Verdict)

Both are paracetamol — the choice is about age and form. Use Calpol syrup for children with a weight-based dose. Use Panadol tablets for adults. Never mix the two without checking the total mg of paracetamol in 24 hours, and never combine with other paracetamol-containing products (e.g., Panadol CF, Hismanal).
