How we check health calculators

A useful calculator should show its formula, units, assumptions and limits. Yahan aap sample calculations khud check kar sakte hain. These examples use the same calculation functions as the public tools.

Reproduce these four examples

4 of 4 displayed examples match their expected numeric output. This is an arithmetic check of these examples, not certification of every result, cutoff or health claim.

What the automated tests check

Our repository includes calculator tests for representative values, selected boundaries, warnings and unit conversions. The four examples above are generated from code when the page is rendered or built. They are separate from running the full test suite; this page is not a live dashboard of every test.

A numerical test can catch a changed equation or conversion. It cannot establish that an input is appropriate for a particular person, that every possible input is handled, or that a clinical guideline is current. Calculator explanations and sources need editorial checks as well.

Rounding, thresholds and assumptions

BMI is displayed to one decimal place; waist ratios to two. Pack-years are displayed to one decimal place, while the exposure bands use the unrounded value. Values close to a boundary deserve particular care: a rounded number can look like it crossed a threshold when the underlying estimate did not.

Pack-years assume an average cigarette history. The optional PKR cost multiplies an entered rate across the whole period; it is not a verified historical price. Body measurements depend on technique. Each tool has its own inputs and restrictions, so read its instructions before interpreting a result.

What these checks do not prove

They do not certify medical accuracy, diagnose a condition, select a medicine or dose, or establish eligibility for a screening programme. The examples cover three calculators, not the entire tool catalogue. Guideline thresholds, medical claims and high-risk tools require their own review. Named medical review is not recorded for this methodology page.

Report a calculation problem

Email pakvitaofficial@gmail.com with the tool URL, units, steps, and a non-identifying example. Say what result you expected and why. Avoid sending patient records, names or other private health details. The corrections log records confirmed substantive fixes.
