Both are benzodiazepines and should only be used short-term (under 4 weeks) for severe acute anxiety, under specialist supervision. For long-term anxiety, SSRIs (like Zoloft) and CBT are far safer first-line choices. Never use these as a daily sleep aid — dependence develops quickly. If you've been on either for weeks or months, do not stop suddenly; ask your doctor for a tapering plan.
