Betnovate-C Cream Side Effects (Nuksanat)
Betnovate-C Cream (Betamethasone Valerate + Clioquinol) is generally well tolerated when applied at the correct dose and for the correct duration. However, like all medicines, it can cause side effects in some patients.
Common Side Effects (Aam Nuksanat)
- Itching or burning at the application site
- Skin irritation
- Local skin dryness
These side effects are usually mild. If they continue, inform your doctor.
Serious Side Effects (Sanjeedah Nuksanat)
- Skin thinning, stretch marks, or visible blood vessels with prolonged use — see a doctor immediately
- Signs of a spreading or worsening infection — see a doctor immediately
- Signs of an allergic reaction (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing) — see a doctor immediately
When to See a Doctor (Kab Doctor Se Milna Zaroori Hai)
- The treated area worsens, spreads, or shows signs of a new infection
- Signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling, hives, or difficulty breathing
- Visible skin thinning, stretch marks, or unusual bruising at the application site
Warnings and Precautions (Ihtiyat)
- Don't use Betnovate-C Cream if you are allergic to Betamethasone Valerate, Clioquinol, iodine, or any ingredient
- Avoid prolonged or unsupervised use, especially on the face, broken skin, large areas, or in children, due to the higher risk of skin thinning and systemic absorption
- Clioquinol may stain skin, hair, and clothing, and rarely, iodine-related test interference has been reported with prolonged use — mention any long-term use to your doctor before thyroid-related tests
