Calpol Syrup Dosage (Kitni deni hai)
Giving the correct dose of Calpol Syrup (Paracetamol 120mg/5ml) is very important — an excessive dose can cause liver damage. Here is the complete guide by age and weight.
Standard Dosing Rule
> 15mg per kg body weight, every 4–6 hours. Maximum 4 doses in 24 hours. Never exceed 60mg/kg in one day.
Dose Table by Age and Weight

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2–3 months | 4–5 kg | 2.5 ml | 60 mg | 4–6 hourly, max 4× |
| 3–6 months | 5–7 kg | 2.5 ml | 60 mg | 4–6 hourly, max 4× |
| 6 months–1 year | 7–10 kg | 5 ml | 120 mg | 4–6 hourly, max 4× |

| 4–6 years | 16–20 kg | 10 ml | 240 mg | 4–6 hourly, max 4× |
> Tip: Use weight-based dosing when weight is known — more accurate than age alone. Do not use a household spoon — use the oral syringe provided with the product.
Weight-Based Dose Formula (Manual Calculation)
``` Dose (mg) = Weight (kg) × 15 Dose (ml) = Dose (mg) × 5 ÷ 120 ```
Example: 9 kg child → 9 × 15 = 135mg → 135 × 5 ÷ 120 = 5.6ml
How to Give
1. Shake the bottle well first 2. Measure the dose using the oral syringe or measuring spoon provided 3. Can be given with or without food 4. If the child vomits within 30 minutes of the dose, give the same dose again 5. Always leave a minimum 4-hour gap before the next dose
Missed Dose (Dose Bhool Jayein)
If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember. If the next dose is less than 1–2 hours away, skip it and continue the normal schedule. Never give a double dose.
Overdose (Zyada Dose)
The biggest risk of Paracetamol overdose is liver failure. In the first 24 hours symptoms can be mild (nausea, vomiting, malaise) — which is why you should not wait.
If an excessive dose has been given: contact the nearest emergency or doctor immediately. N-Acetylcysteine (antidote) must be obtained quickly.
