Spiriva Capsule Side Effects (Nuksanat)
Spiriva Capsule (tiotropium bromide 18mcg) is generally well tolerated when used correctly via the HandiHaler device. However, like all medicines, it can cause side effects in some patients.
Common Side Effects (Aam Nuksanat)
- Dry mouth
- Constipation
- Urinary tract infection
These side effects are usually mild. If they continue, inform your doctor.
Serious Side Effects (Sanjeedah Nuksanat)
- Urinary retention (inability to urinate) — see a doctor immediately
- Paradoxical bronchospasm (sudden worsening of breathing) — see a doctor immediately
- Angle-closure glaucoma (eye pain, blurred vision, halos) — see a doctor immediately
When to See a Doctor (Kab Doctor Se Milna Zaroori Hai)
- Sudden worsening of breathing or new wheezing after inhalation
- Eye pain, blurred vision, or seeing halos around lights
- Inability or difficulty urinating
Warnings and Precautions (Ihtiyat)
- Do not use Spiriva Capsule if you are allergic to tiotropium, ipratropium, or any ingredient
- The capsule must not be swallowed — inhalation via HandiHaler only
- Use with caution if you have prostate enlargement or urinary problems
