Velosef (Cephradine) Side Effects (Nuksanat)
Velosef (Cephradine) is generally well-tolerated when taken at the prescribed dose and duration. However, like all antibiotics, it can cause side effects.
Common Side Effects (Aam Nuksanat)
- Nausea and GI disturbance
- Skin rash
- Headache (sar dard)
These side effects are usually mild. If they continue, inform your doctor.
Serious Side Effects (Sanjeedah Nuksanat)
- Anaphylaxis / severe allergic reaction — see a doctor immediately (emergency)
- C. difficile colitis (severe watery or bloody diarrhoea) — see a doctor immediately (emergency)
- Haematological effects (neutropenia, blood count changes) — rare, with prolonged use
- Stevens-Johnson syndrome (very rare severe skin reaction) — emergency
When to See a Doctor (Kab Doctor Se Milna Zaroori Hai)
- Severe rash, hives, or skin peeling — stop the medicine, see a doctor immediately
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing (anaphylaxis) — emergency
- Severe watery or bloody diarrhoea — emergency
- Swelling of face, lips, tongue — allergic reaction — emergency
- Symptoms not improving — revisit doctor within 48-72 hours
Warnings and Precautions (Ihtiyat)
- Don't use Velosef if you are allergic to Cephradine or any cephalosporin
- Patients with penicillin allergy — inform the doctor (cross-reactivity risk)
