Cilostazol Tablet Uses (Fayde / Kis kaam aata hai)
Cilostazol (Pletaal, Pletal) is a PDE3 inhibitor antiplatelet and vasodilator. All approved and common uses in Pakistan are listed below.
Primary Uses (Mukhya Istemal)
- Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) — Intermittent Claudication: leg pain / fatigue while walking — walking distance improves as blood flow increases
- Post-Stroke / TIA Secondary Prevention (Adjunct): recurrent stroke risk reduction through antiplatelet effect
- Coronary Stent Restenosis Prevention: inhibiting smooth muscle proliferation in selected Asian protocols
Who Should Take It (Kin logon ke liye)
- PAD patients for whom the doctor has prescribed Cilostazol
- Secondary prevention after stroke / TIA (cardiologist / neurologist decision)
- Cardiologist-prescribed cases after coronary stent
When NOT to Use Cilostazol (Kab nahi leni)
- Heart failure — CONTRAINDICATED — mortality risk
- Active bleeding or haemorrhagic disorders
- History of haemorrhagic stroke
- Pregnancy (without specialist advice)
- Severe liver disease
