Famila-28 Tablet Side Effects (Nuksanat)
Famila-28 (Levonorgestrel + Ethinylestradiol) is generally well tolerated when taken at the correct dose. However, like all hormonal medicines, it can cause side effects in some patients.
Common Side Effects (Aam Nuksanat)
- Nausea
- Headache
- Breast tenderness
These side effects are usually mild. If they continue, inform your doctor.
Serious Side Effects (Sanjeedah Nuksanat)
- Blood clots (deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism) — see a doctor immediately
- Severe abdominal or chest pain — see a doctor immediately
- Sudden severe headache or vision changes — see a doctor immediately
Blood clot risk is an important consideration with combined oral contraceptives, and is higher in smokers over the age of 35 and in those with other clotting risk factors. Your doctor will assess your personal risk before prescribing Famila-28.
When to See a Doctor (Kab Doctor Se Milna Zaroori Hai)
- Sudden leg swelling, pain, or warmth (possible sign of a blood clot)
- Chest pain or sudden shortness of breath
- Sudden severe headache, vision changes, or fainting
Warnings and Precautions (Ihtiyat)
- Don't use Famila-28 if you are allergic to Levonorgestrel, Ethinylestradiol, or any ingredient
- Not recommended for women over 35 who smoke, due to increased risk of blood clots
