Gliclazide Tablet Uses
Gliclazide Tablet contains Gliclazide and is an anti-diabetic of the Sulfonylurea class. This page lists all approved uses of Gliclazide in Pakistan.
IMPORTANT: The greatest risk is HYPOGLYCAEMIA (low blood sugar) — sweating, shaking, confusion, unconsciousness. Always carry sugar/glucose.
Primary Uses
- Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus — control of blood glucose (sugar)
Who Should Take It
- Adult patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
- Patients who need additional glucose control after diet, exercise, and/or Metformin
- Only on a doctor's prescription
When NOT to Use Gliclazide
- Type 1 Diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
- Severe renal or hepatic failure
- Sulfonamide or sulfonylurea allergy
- During pregnancy or breastfeeding without a doctor
- With Miconazole (antifungal) — risk of severe hypoglycaemia
