Summary
Plavix is prescribed for preventing blood clots after a heart attack, stroke, or stent placement, and for peripheral artery disease and acute coronary syndrome. It must never be stopped abruptly without a cardiologist's guidance, especially after a stent, since doing so can raise the risk of a sudden clot and heart attack. Always consult a doctor before starting or stopping this medicine.
