Cosylan Syrup contains Ethylmorphine Hydrochloride with Cascara and Menthol and belongs to the antitussive (cough suppressant) group. Below are all the approved and common uses of Cosylan Syrup in Pakistan.
Primary Uses (Mukhya Istemal)
- Relief of dry, unproductive cough
- Symptomatic treatment of irritating cough in upper respiratory infections
- Throat and airway soothing in bronchitis
Who Should Take It (Kin logon ke liye)
- Adults with a persistent dry, irritating cough not producing mucus
- Patients with upper respiratory infections causing dry cough
- Adults over 12 years where cough is significantly affecting sleep or daily life
When NOT to Use Cosylan Syrup (Kab nahi lena chahiye)
- If you are allergic to ethylmorphine or any other ingredient
- For productive (chesty) cough where mucus needs to be expelled
- Children under 12 without explicit medical advice
- If using other CNS sedatives or alcohol without medical guidance
