Silodosin Capsule Dosage (Kitni leni hai)
Silodosin (Urimax, Silodyx) must be taken at the correct dose. Always follow the doctor's prescription.
Adult Dose (Baalgon ke liye)
Standard Dose: 8mg once daily Timing: WITH food — with the evening meal preferred (reduced first-dose hypotension risk) Max Daily Dose: 8mg/day
Renal Impairment Dose Adjustment
| Renal Function | eGFR | Dose |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | > 50 mL/min | 8mg OD |
| Moderate impairment | 30–50 mL/min | 4mg OD |
| Severe impairment | < 30 mL/min | AVOID |
Child Dose (Bachon ke liye)
Silodosin is only for adult male BPH patients — not for use in children or female patients.
How to Take (Kaise leni hai)
- Take WITH food
- Swallow the capsule whole — do not open it
- With plain water
- Same time every day — to maintain a routine
- First dose with the evening meal — reduces hypotension risk
Best Time to Take (Kab leni chahiye)
- With the evening meal — orthostatic hypotension risk is minimised
- Or with the morning meal — as per the doctor's advice
With Food or Empty Stomach (Khali pait ya khane ke baad)
Take WITH food — this is essential. Food reduces the peak concentration of silodosin — side effects (dizziness, GI) are better tolerated.
Missed Dose (Dose chhoot jaye to kya karein)
Take as soon as you remember. If the next dose is near, skip it — continue on schedule. Never take a double dose.
Overdose (Zyada Dose)
Silodosin overdose may cause severe BP drop (hypotension), fainting, and rapid heartbeat. Contact a doctor or emergency room immediately.
