Primary Uses (Mukhya Istemal)
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus (as monotherapy)
- Type 2 diabetes in combination with metformin or other antidiabetics
- Type 2 diabetes in triple therapy with metformin and a sulphonylurea or glitazone
Who Should Take It (Kin logon ke liye)
- Adults with type 2 diabetes whose blood sugar is not adequately controlled with diet and exercise alone
- Patients on metformin or other antidiabetics who need additional glucose control
- Patients intolerant to metformin who require an alternative oral antidiabetic medicine
When NOT to Use Januvia Tablet (Kab nahi leni chahiye)
- If you are allergic to sitagliptin phosphate or any ingredient
- For type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis — not appropriate for these conditions
- Moderate to severe kidney impairment without dose adjustment by a specialist
